Gangs of Wasseypur turned into an instant cult classic.
The movie’s raw portrayal of the coal mafia in Dhanbad, combined with its unforgettable characters and dialogues like “Keh ke lenge uski” and “Beta… tumse na ho payega,” has left a lasting impact on pop culture.
From inspiring memes to being a launchpad for actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pankaj Tripathi, the film has influenced both audiences and future filmmakers.
Even years after its release, Gangs of Wasseypur continues to be a reference point for its intense storytelling and memorable dialogues.
Recalling the experience, Tripathi had said, “I have such fond memories from the shoot of Wasseypur. It was winter in UP. The actors were all from a theatre background and how all of them used to sit outside and talk even if there were vanities.
