A resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, Rohit Tyagi, has been arrested by Mumbai Police for a bizarre prank.
Tyagi allegedly booked a cab online in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi, a notorious gangster currently incarcerated.
The pick-up location? None other than the Bandra residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who has been embroiled in a long-standing feud with Bishnoi.
The accused, identified as Rohit Tyagi, was detained in his hometown. According to authorities, Tyagi purportedly intended the act as a jest.
On Wednesday, Tyagi purportedly used an online platform to reserve a cab for a journey from Galaxy Apartments, Khan's domicile, to the Bandra police station.
Upon reaching the specified location, the cab driver discerned the ruse and subsequently filed a formal complaint.
Responding promptly to the incident, the Bandra police initiated legal proceedings and successfully traced Tyagi.
The episode garnered significance in light of recent events surrounding Lawrence Bishnoi, who made headlines following an incident last Sunday when an assailant on a motorcycle fired shots at Khan's residence.
Although the suspected shooter and an accomplice were swiftly apprehended, law enforcement officials disclosed ongoing investigations into the potential involvement of the Bishnoi gang.
This line of inquiry gained traction after a Facebook post, purportedly authored by Anmol Bishnoi, the younger sibling of the incarcerated gangster, claimed responsibility for the attack.
