With hits like "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar," "The Great Indian Kapil Show," and "Amar Singh Chamkila," India became Netflix's third-highest country in terms of revenue growth in the second quarter.

The streaming service revealed its earnings for the second quarter of 2024 on Thursday. It appears that Indian content, alongside popular international shows like "Bridgerton 3," "Baby Reindeer," the Korean drama "Queen of Tears," and movies such as "Hit Man" and "Under Paris," has made significant progress this year.

The streamer mentioned that India and the UK have particularly strong content lineups this year.

In the second quarter, India ranked second and third, respectively, in terms of paid net additions and revenue growth due to the success of titles like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” which became the streamer's biggest Indian drama series to date with 15 million views.

Another major success for Netflix was the Imtiaz Ali-directed biopic "Amar Singh Chamkila," which garnered 8.3 million views.

The streamer also found success with licensed films like Kiran Rao’s “Laapataa Ladies” and the horror drama “Shaitaan” starring Ajay Devgn.

The UK production "Baby Reindeer" has garnered 11 Emmy nominations and has become a major success with 88.4 million views. "The Gentlemen", "One Day", and "Fool Me Once" were also consistently ranked in the top 10 list of the streamer’s global TV shows.

In 2024, India's content lineup will feature non-fiction programs such as "Modern Masters with SS Rajamouli", "Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale", and "Yo Yo Honey Singh".

The highly anticipated returning fiction titles include season two of "Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein", "Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba", "The Great Indian Kapil Show S2", and the third season of "Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives".

Anubhav Sinha's compelling drama "IC814: The Kandahar Hijack", "Do Patti", and "Vijay 69" are among the other Indian projects set to be released on the streaming platform this year.
