Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth is reportedly in discussions to headline the forthcoming crossover movie between the popular “Transformers” and “G.I. Joe” franchises.
This untitled project will be Hemsworth's second venture into the “Transformers” universe, following his role as the voice of Optimus Prime in the upcoming animated film “Transformers One,” slated for release in September.
The crossover film will serve as a sequel to the seventh installment of the “Transformers” series, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” (2023), which featured Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback.
The previous movie concluded with a post-credit scene where Ramos’ character, Noah Diaz, encounters Agent Burke, a covert government operative affiliated with the G.I. Joes, a specialized commando unit.
This project marks the first cinematic union of the two action-packed franchises.
The film will be produced by Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy, with Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment serving as executive producers.
Currently, Hemsworth is seen in George Miller's "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," co-starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Tom Burke.
