I am a bad actor, Kangana won't agree for a film: Paswan

‘Miley Naa Miley Hum’ marked Chirag Paswan’s Bollywood debut alongside Kangana Ranaut in 2011.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan, who ventured into politics after a lackluster Bollywood debut, candidly admits he has no intentions of returning to the silver screen.

He humorously noted that his acting skills are so poor that even his Lok Sabha colleague and former co-star, Kangana Ranaut, would refuse to share screen space with him again.

Paswan, the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), made his film debut with Ranaut in the 2011 film "Miley Naa Miley Hum," a venture he describes as a "disaster."

Reflecting on his brief stint in Bollywood, Paswan acknowledges the experience taught him what not to pursue in life.

"No, not at all. And I think anybody who has seen the movie will agree with me," Paswan remarked when asked if he would ever consider a comeback to cinema. He added, smiling, that his short-lived acting career underscored the importance of being true to oneself.

Despite his initial foray into acting, Paswan's focus has firmly shifted to his political career. With the Bihar elections approaching next year, he emphasized his dedication to his constituents and his responsibilities as a Union Minister.

"Politics is not something to be taken casually," Paswan stated. "As a Member of Parliament, I am accountable directly or indirectly to 25 lakh people in my constituency, and as a cabinet minister, I have responsibilities across the country. I do not think I can take this lightly."

Paswan also addressed his personal life, revealing he has no plans to marry for at least the next two years. He highlighted the significance of commitment in marriage and his current priority towards his political duties.

"I think marriage is also a huge responsibility. You can't just be occupied with your work and give an excuse to your better half that my work is my priority. If your work is your priority, then set your priority clear," he said. "I am very clear about my priority that I am married to my work. And if I don't have time for my better half, I should not get into that."

Paswan's decision is also influenced by the upcoming Bihar assembly polls, where he aims to focus his efforts. "I don't see myself getting married for a couple of years at least. Because I have state elections coming in Bihar. So that is my next priority," he noted.

When questioned about potential marriage proposals, Paswan responded with characteristic modesty. "I do not know. I think my mother is processing most of it," he said, laughing bashfully. "I don't know how to answer these questions... I have already started blushing."

His candidness extended to his thoughts on working again with Kangana Ranaut, who has since become a leading actor in the Hindi film industry and a successful politician, winning the Lok Sabha polls from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.

When asked if he would consider doing a movie with Ranaut again, Paswan quipped, "She will not. She knows how good an actor I am." He added with a self-deprecating laugh, "I am a very bad actor. You need to be honest with yourself."
