In her latest nostalgic dispatch on Instagram, screen legend Zeenat Aman has admitted that she was never quite at home with the rigid demands of Bollywood choreography. Reflecting on her time in the industry, Aman confessed that a lack of formal training meant directors often found it far more effective to let her "groove" in her own way rather than attempt to force her through complex dance routines.

The actress shared a clip from the 1979 classic 'The Great Gambler' specifically the track "Oh Diwano Dil Sambhalo", which saw her starring alongside Amitabh Bachchan. "Many a director realised it’s better to leave me to my own swaying device than frustrate themselves trying to coax complicated choreography out of me!" she joked in her post on Monday. While the gondola-set "Do Lafzon Ki" remains the film’s most famous musical moment, Aman revealed that this sassier number — performed by the incomparable Asha Bhosle — is actually her personal favourite.

She fondly recalled the "over-the-top" styling for the sequence, which involved three costume changes, including a shimmering gold tracksuit and a short pageboy wig. According to Aman, the song perfectly captured the confidence of a woman fully aware of her own desirability, far removed from the "drippy romance" typical of the era.

Shakti Samanta directed this film, which starred a RD Burman score, 'The Great Gambler.' This film starred Amitabh Bachchan in a double role as Aman, who played the role of Shabnam, along with a host of other stars, including Neetu Singh, Helen, and Prem Chopra.
