Ishaan Khatter recently grabbed global headlines with his appearance at the 78th Cannes International Film Festival. His upcoming film ‘Homebound’ headlined by producer Karan Johar and filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan, got an extraordinary 9-minute standing ovation during its screening.
Known for essaying diverse on-screen characters, Ishaan recently reflected on his experience of working with national award winning actor Tabu in 'A Suitable Boy.'
Praising Tabu, the actor said communication with her was instinctive and working with her felt very natural. There was no need for extensive discussion about the scenes, he said.
"With an actress like Tabu, honestly, it's like, you don't have to talk about it," Ishaan said about filming intimate scenes for the series, adding that he didn't freak out at all as he trusted her completely.
Tabu not only understood his performance but often elevated it, which, he said, was the magic of collaborating with an actor of her caliber.
‘The Royals’ actor noted that his chemistry with Tabu, who is 24 years his senior, felt perfect mainly due to the script’s strength.
He added that if the two actors had been cast in a story that ignored or failed to address their age difference, the pairing might have felt out of place.
