A new series adaptation featuring a fresh set of characters is in the works for the popular "John Wick" franchise.
As per Deadline's report, the show has been named "John Wick: Under The High Table".
Keanu Reeves, who played the lead in all previous action thriller installments, will serve as an executive producer for the series, alongside director Chad Stahelski.
Stahelski, the director, will also be helming the first episode of the show at Lionsgate. The script for the series comes from Robert Levine, co-creator of "The Old Man".
"John Wick: The High Table" will continue the story directly following the events of last year's "John Wick: Chapter 4".
According to the makers, the series promises to “combine new and old and thrust the Wick universe into a new age,” indicating a mix of newly created and existing characters As per the reports, the fifth film for the franchise is also in development and would be a separate entity from the series.
The studio also has an upcoming spinoff film "Ballerina" starring Ana de Armas, which takes place between the third and fourth "John Wick" movies.
