'Kalki 2898 AD' earns Rs 298.5 cr globally in two days

 

The producers announced on Friday that "Kalki 2898 AD," Nag Ashwin's 3D extravaganza, raked in a whopping Rs 298.5 crore in just two days at the worldwide box office.

 

This high-budget film, which melds the Hindu epic Mahabharata with science fiction, was released in six languages - Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English - by Vyjayanthi Movies on Thursday.

 

Starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Shobhana, the star-studded movie recorded a gross box office collection of Rs 191.5 crore on the opening day and Rs 107 crore on Friday.

 

"The love is pouring in from all corners of the world! #Kalki2898AD #EpicBlockbusterKalki," Vyjayanthi Movies posted on its official X page along with a poster stating that "Kalki 2898 AD" earned Rs 298.5 crore in two days.

 

The film, formerly known as "Project K", is possibly the costliest movie ever made in Indian cinema, with a reported budget of Rs 600 crore.

 

Numerous people gathered outside cinemas in various cities such as Hyderabad and Mumbai, and the early feedback was positive.

 

The film has also received a huge shout from many celebrities, including megastar Rajinikanth, who called "Kalki 2898 AD" an "epic movie".
