Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, set to return as the host for the 16th season of "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC), has announced that the upcoming season will feature several intriguing changes.
The beloved quiz show will premiere on Sony Entertainment Television from August 12, airing weekdays at 9 pm.
In a detailed blog post, Bachchan shared his excitement about the new season, highlighting that the show continues to offer contestants a platform to win substantial cash prizes while sharing their personal stories.
"Some fresh new interesting changes in the GAME and the impact it will have and the learnings.. but above all the 'emotions' that overcome us all when the outcome of the contestant before us narrates his or her story," wrote the 81-year-old actor.
One of the notable new additions to the game is 'Dugnaastra'. This twist allows contestants to double their winnings by correctly answering the 'super sawaal' without any multiple-choice options. A video shared by the channel on social media detailed this challenging yet rewarding feature.
Bachchan, currently filming for KBC, reflected on the emotional impact of listening to contestants' stories of struggle and perseverance.
"BUT.. with that most endearing smile which just melts us.. for the past few days the contestants and their lives that come before us have been most emotional and moving.. and we sit in the wonder of their narratives.. and try to extend helping hands for their needs and to try and overcome their harsh lives," he wrote.
Expressing his admiration for the contestants' resilience, Bachchan added, "May they be given all the strength that the Almighty can ever bestow upon those that struggle and set examples.. and teach a lesson to these."
Since its inception in 2000, KBC has been synonymous with Bachchan, except for its third season in 2007, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
The show's format, which allows participants to share their personal stories alongside their quest for the grand prize, has endeared it to millions of viewers.
In addition to his hosting duties, Bachchan has been busy with his latest film, "Kalki 2898 AD," directed by Nag Ashwin.
The film has achieved remarkable success, crossing the Rs 1000 crore mark at the global box office.
As anticipation builds for the new season of KBC, viewers can expect not only the thrill of the quiz but also the heartwarming and inspiring stories of its contestants, making it a compelling watch.
