The screenplay is written by Dan Gilroy, based on earlier drafts by Eric Warren Singer, with original series co-creators Anthony Yerkovich and Michael Mann serving as executive producers.

Jordan joins the project fresh off his Academy Award win for best actor for Ryan Coogler's "Sinners." He will next direct, star in, and produce a reimagining of "The Thomas Crown Affair" for Amazon MGM Studios.

Butler, who received a best actor Oscar nomination for his turn as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis", has since appeared in Denis Villeneuve's "Dune: Part Two", Jeff Nichols' "The Bikeriders" and Darren Aronofsky's "Caught Stealing".

He will next star in the A24 crime thriller "Enemies" alongside Jeremy Allen White.
