Just months after stepping into motherhood, Millie Bobby Brown seems to have found the role of a lifetime.

The Emmy nominee is on the final leg of negotiations to star as Olympic champion gymnast Kerri Strug in director Gia Coppola’s next project “Perfect”, reports suggest. Brown will also join the production team of the film written by Ronnie Sandahl.

A Netflix project, “Perfect” is American sports icon Strug’s biopic, and will be centred around the U.S. women’s gymnastics team at the 1996 Summer Games.

The “Stranger Things” star had earlier adopted a baby girl with husband Jake Bongiovi this summer.

In a podcast in March this year, Millie, 21, emphasised how having both a career and family has always been her goal. "I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family."

“Jake knows how important it is to me,” she shared, adding that both she and the actor—the son of Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley—are "one of four" kids in their respective families. "It is definitely in our future."

Millie and Jake got married in May 2024 after three years of dating. The duo first made their relationship public in June 2021 with an Instagram picture together. They got engaged in April 2023.

On the work front, “Perfect” marks Brown’s longstanding relationship with Netflix, which includes films like the “Enola Holmes” franchise, “Damsel and The Electric State”. The actress originated her breakout role of Eleven on the smash Netflix series “Stranger Things” when the show debuted in 2016. Its fifth and final season is set to be released later this year in three parts.
