American pop icon Taylor Swift has been overwhelmed by fans' response to her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, after it smashed records, even going beyond 300 million streams in a single day on Spotify.
“My mind is blown. I’m completely floored by the love you’ve shown this album,” she posted on X, formerly Twitter, to fans about the album, which was released on April 19, 2024.
Singer-songwriter Swift, whose new album features songs like Fortnight, Down Bad, Fresh Out the Slammer and My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys, continued with: “2.6 million ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS?? Thank you for listening, streaming, and welcoming Tortured Poets into your life.”
The 34-year-old singing sensation, whose fans, the Swifties, caused seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake at her “Eras” tour concert in Seattle, USA, last year, tweeted she was feeling “completely overwhelmed. I was already so fired up to get back to the tour, but you doing THIS?? May 9th can’t come soon enough.”
Fans guessed her shout-out to May 9 was for her return to tour after a two-month break.
