Liam Payne, a former member of pop band One Direction, has died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires. He was 31.
Payne died at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo neighbourhood, according to a statement from police.
The singer had suffered "very serious injuries incompatible with life as a result of his fall," the head of the city's SAME emergency medical service, Alberto Crescenti, told local television, adding "there was no possibility of resuscitation."
Payne was seen in Argentina attending his former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert on October 2, according to videos posted to social media from the show.
According to videos posted to his Snapchat, he recently celebrated his 31st birthday in the UK. An hour before his death, he shared a video on Snapchat.
Payne was born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, and is the youngest of three. He is an alum of the City of Wolverhampton College, where he studied music technology.
