The 97th Academy Awards were held on Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. Sean Baker's Anora emerged as the biggest winner, securing five awards, including Best Picture, Best Actress, and accolades for Directing, Editing, and Original Screenplay.
Hosted by Conan O'Brien, the ceremony unfolded in the wake of devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
The event, which aired on ABC and was available for streaming on Hulu, saw several historic wins. Zoe Saldaña became the first American of Dominican descent to win an Oscar for her performance in Emilia Pérez, while Paul Tazewell became the first Black male to secure an Academy Award for Costume Design, honoured for his work on Wicked.
