Pahalgam attack: Singers Papon, Shreya, Arijit cancel shows

In response, many artists and celebrities have cancelled upcoming shows and events as a mark of respect for the victims.

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on 22 April 2025, has left the entire nation in shock. The horrific incident claimed the lives of 26 innocent tourists and injured several others.

 

In response, many artists and celebrities have cancelled upcoming shows and events as a mark of respect for the victims.

 

Popular singer Shreya Ghoshal was among the first to respond.

 

She shared a joint post on social media announcing the cancellation of her All Hearts Tour concert in Surat. The event was scheduled for April 26.

 

The caption read, “Shreya Ghoshal's Surat show on April 26th stands cancelled. We stand in silence and solidarity, with heartfelt condolences to those affected by the tragedy.”

Singer Arijit Singh also announced the cancellation of his show in Chennai. The concert was scheduled to be held on Sunday, April 27. He re-shared a post from the organisers on his Instagram story, confirming the decision.

 

Playback singer and composer Papon cancelled his show in Ahmedabad, which was set for the evening of April 26. He shared the update on Instagram. The organisers assured all ticket holders that full refunds would be issued.

 

It is not just the music industry that has responded. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan also cancelled his appearance at a special screening of his cult classic film Andaz Apna Apna. The screening was planned for this week in Mumbai.

 

Artists and performers across the country have come together in grief. Their decision to pause entertainment activities reflects a shared sense of mourning. It is a gesture of respect and support for those affected by the tragedy.
