Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has become a colossal phenomenon, setting new records and shattering previous milestones at the box office. In just 15 days, the film has surpassed the lifetime collections of several major Hindi blockbusters, cementing its place as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
This achievement is all the more remarkable as Pushpa 2 now sits atop the Hindi nett collection chart, leaving behind films like Stree 2, Jawan, Pathaan, and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in its wake.
The film’s immense success has left industry observers in awe. Pushpa 2, which released with much fanfare, has already grossed a staggering Rs 632.50 crore nett in the Hindi version alone.
The film’s journey to this monumental figure has been swift, as the box office continues to reflect the audience’s insatiable demand for more.
It has outstripped major films such as Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 and is on the verge of overtaking Baahubali 2's lifetime Hindi collections.
The film's 'Hindi' box office collections for the first two weeks have broken down as follows:
- Week 1: Rs 433.50 crore (in 8 days with Thursday release)
- Week 2: Rs 199 crore
- Total: Rs 632.50 crore (nett)
Some of the highest-grossing Hindi films, whose collections Pushpa 2 has surpassed, include:
- Stree 2: Rs 597.99 crore
- Jawan: Rs 582.31 crore
- Pathaan: Rs 524.24 crore
- Baahubali 2: The Conclusion: Rs 510 crore
- KGF Chapter 2: Rs 435.33 crore
- Animal: Rs 502.98 crore
At this pace, Pushpa 2 is on course to surpass the lifetime worldwide collections of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, aiming for the second spot in India’s highest-grossing films.
Dangal, starring Aamir Khan, continues to hold the top position with its global earnings of Rs 2000 crore.
Notably, Pushpa 2 has already made history as the fastest film to gross over Rs 1500 crore worldwide.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, which earned Allu Arjun his first-ever National Award for Best Actor.
The film sees Arjun reprise his role as Pushpa Raj, with Rashmika Mandanna returning as Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as the menacing SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
The film has not only delighted audiences but also solidified Allu Arjun's position as one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema.
