Television actor Ram Kapoor, who has been married to fellow actor Gautami Kapoor for over 20 years, has spoken candidly about his love life prior to marriage, admitting to a string of past relationships and describing himself as a former playboy. During a recent conversation with Shreya Kalra on the reality show ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’, the actor opened up about his past when questioned about how many affairs he had had. Ram clarified that he has not had a single affair since getting married, but freely admitted that before tying the knot, he was a playboy and could not even count the number of relationships he had been in.
He went on to reveal that when news of their impending marriage broke, television producer Ektaa Kapoor, a close friend of his, actually called Gautami to warn her about his reputation, asking if she was certain about going through with the wedding. Ram noted that Ektaa was genuinely worried for Gautami, adding that he fully respected her intervention because his playboy lifestyle at the time meant her concerns were entirely justified.
The couple first crossed paths in 2000 on the sets of the television drama ‘Ghar Ek Mandir’, where their initial friendship gradually blossomed into romance. During this time, Gautami had gone through tough times after her divorce, and the constant encouragement from Ram during this time made their relationship even stronger. They dated for nearly two years, lived together for some time, and tied the knot on Valentine’s Day in 2003. Today, they have a daughter named Sia and a son named Aks and often treat their fans on social media to fun videos of them fooling around.
Currently hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’ features an array of television actors alongside well-known reality television personalities. The series premiered in late June and is streaming on Netflix for a six-week run, with new episodes releasing from Saturday to Thursday each week.
The dynamics within the house have recently been shaken up by the arrival of actor Shilpa Shinde as a wildcard contestant. Since this recent development, Shinde, like some other key inmates, has been able to secure himself for this imminent process of elimination, while the other contestants have to face the problem of eviction.
