Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Bollywood’s iconic romantic duo known for their collaboration in films such as “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, “Tamasha”, “Bachna Ae Haseeno”, are reuniting after 10 years.
And not just for any film. The duo is coming together for a remake of the legendary actors Raj Kapoor and Nargis’ 1956 classic “Chori Chori”.
If reports are to be believed, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” director Ayan Mukerji will helm the project, which will be made under the iconic RK Films banner.
The original film traced the unlikely connection between a runaway heiress and a sharp-tongued reporter who embarked on a journey filled with romance, humour, and social commentary.
The new project will not be an exact remake of the original. The storyline will be reinterpreted to fit a contemporary narrative with a contemporary arc.

Insiders say Ranbir is looking forward to revisiting the old classic directed by his grandfather, Raj Kapoor.
Kapoor and Padukone were last seen in Tamasha (2015). The duo was in a relationship for almost two years after working together in “Bachna Ae Haseeno” before they parted ways in 2010. In 2019, Deepika married actor Ranveer Singh. They have a daughter, Dua. Ranbir tied the knot with actor Alia Bhatt in April 2022. They welcomed their daughter Raha the same year.
On the work front, Ranbir is busy shooting for “Love & War” with wife Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. His upcoming film “Ramayan” is also under production.
Meanwhile, Deepika will be next seen in “King” and an untitled film with Allu Arjun.
