Rhea Chakraborty's family unshackled in Sushant Singh Rajput Death case

The LOCs, which were issued in 2020 by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as part of its investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput's death, had restrained Rhea, Showik, and their father from foreign travel without prior approval from the authorities. However, a division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Manjusha Deshpande, after hearing the petitions filed by the Chakraborty family, ruled in their favor, thereby lifting these travel restrictions.

Rhea Chakraborty's family unshackled in Sushant Singh Rajput Death case

With the ongoing legal saga surrounding the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Bombay High Court has ruled to quash the Look Out Circulars (LOC) issued against actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, and their father Indrajit Chakraborty.

This decision enables the trio to travel outside India without requiring prior permission from the court, marking a pivotal turn in the case.

The court's decision comes after a prolonged legal battle, during which Rhea Chakraborty and her brother faced charges related to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act following Rajput's demise.

Both were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with the case, with Rhea spending a month in Byculla jail in 2020 before being granted bail. Their father, Indrajit Chakraborty, an Army veteran, was also implicated in the investigation.

The quashing of the LOCs by the Bombay High Court signifies a significant victory for the Chakraborty family, who have been embroiled in controversy and legal proceedings since Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely demise.

While the CBI's advocate, Shreeram Shirsat, sought a stay on the court's order to facilitate a potential appeal to the Supreme Court, the High Court declined to grant such a stay, allowing the ruling to take immediate effect.

With this development, Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and their father can now pursue international travel without burden of the previously imposed Look Out Circulars. As the legal proceedings continue, this decision adds a new chapter to the complex and widely followed case, which has captured the attention of the nation's media and public alike.
