Netflix has officially revealed that the fifth and final season of the highly awaited series will debut in 2025.
In honour of Stranger Things Day on November 6 (the anniversary of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) being taken into the Upside Down in 1983), the streaming service shared a video showcasing the titles of the last eight episodes that will conclude the supernatural narrative set in Hawkins, Indiana.
The episode titles include The Crawl, The Vanishing of..., The Turnbow Trap, Sorcerer, Shock Jock, Escape From Camazotz, The Bridge, and The Rightside Up.
Since the Season 1 finale was called The Upside Down, which references the mysterious alternate dimension, it seems appropriate for the series finale to be named The Rightside Up, echoing the earlier title.
Some of the titles seem to introduce new ideas to the Stranger Things universe. The Turnbow Trap probably alludes to Turnbow Land Development & Realty, a local enterprise in Hawkins, as series co-creator Ross Duffer posted an Upside Down-themed billboard for it on Instagram earlier this year.
One of the most fascinating aspects revealed in the teaser video is that the final season will take place in the fall of 1987, four years after Season 1, which first aired in 2016. The official Instagram account of Stranger Things also posted behind-the-scenes photos featuring the main cast.
The series features Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, David Harbour, and Winona Ryder.
