In an extravaganza of a show on stage at Hall H, Robert Downey Jr. revealed himself as the face of Doctor Doom in the latest venture of the Avenger series, ‘Avengers Doomsday'.
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) head Kevin Feige divulged Robert Downey Jr. as the new face of the Fantastic Four villain, Doctor Doom at the San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
Eminently, known for his role as Iron Man, the character who died in Endgame 2023, Downey’s revelation had fans go crazy with hoots and cheers at the event in Hall H. The movie will be directed by the Russo Brothers and is set for release in May 2026.
In a post on Instagram Marvel Studios penned, “New Mask, Same task. Robert Downey Jr. surprises Hall H to announce his return to the MCU as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday in theatres May 2026.”
Soon after this announcement, Robert Downey Jr. also posted on Instagram, “New Mask, same task.”
Commenting chicly on his post, the Russo brothers wrote, “We've always said that green is your color.”
The news had fans excited and curious all over social media expressing their love for the revival of their beloved Robert Downey Jr to the MCU.
Marvel studios announcing the directorial of Russo Brothers wrote, “Just announced in Hall H: The Russo brothers return to direct Marvel studios: Avengers Doomsday, starring Robert Downey Jr. Doctor Doom. Only be in theatres in May 2026. “
With this, the production company also announced Avengers: Secret Wars to be released in May 2027 also a directorial of Russo Brothers.
The post reads, “Just announced in Hall H: The Russo brothers return to direct Marvel studios: Avengers Secret Wars. Only in theatres in May 2027.”
Doctor Doom, is a character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for Marvel comics, who first appeared in Fantastic Four 5 in 1962. Also known as Victor Von, he is a fictional antagonist who is ruthless and rigid in his mannerisms.
He is the archenemy of Fantastic Fours but has also co-existed with other Marvel Heroes to save the world if the situations and circumstances favor him.
Doom characterised his immense ego and despotic regime over the fictional nation of Latveria. His genius-level intellect and mastery over science and magic, combined with technopathy, flight, and superhuman strength, are his superpowers.
