Veteran actress Asha Parekh, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, along with several figures from the film industry and political circles, visited the residence of iconic singer Asha Bhosle on Monday morning to pay their final respects.
A sombre mood prevailed at the venue, as admirers gathered with folded hands and tearful eyes to bid farewell, reflecting the immense loss felt across generations. Bhosle, who mesmerised audiences for over seven decades with her versatile and unforgettable songs, passed away on Sunday at the age of 92 due to multi-organ failure at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.
Her mortal remains, draped in the national flag, were kept in the lobby of her Lower Parel residence from 11 am on Monday, where a continuous stream of mourners arrived to offer their tributes. The atmosphere grew even more emotional as the police band played solemn tunes, while family members struggled to come to terms with the loss.

Among those who paid homage were Asha Parekh, NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali Tendulkar, along with Maharashtra ministers Ashish Shelar and Mangal Prabhat Lodha. Actors Tabu and Riteish Deshmukh, as well as NCP leader Praful Patel, were also present to honour the late singer.
Meanwhile, veteran actress Mumtaz also paid an emotional tribute to legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle. Taking to Instagram, Mumtaz expressed a ‘deep sense of loss’, reflecting on the powerful connection between an actresses' on-screen presence and the voice that defines it.
Sharing a nostalgic video, she was seen dancing to the iconic track 'Koi Sehari Babu' from the 1973 film Loafer, a song originally sung by Bhosle and filmed on Mumtaz during the peak of her career.
In the video, Mumtaz recreates the classic number in a gathering, with Bhosle seen joyfully grooving alongside her.
