Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has spoken out about the persistent death threats against him, adopting a philosophical stance on the matter.
"Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai," he remarked, suggesting that life’s course is preordained and beyond human control.
Khan, 59, was addressing reporters on Wednesday night, marking one of the rare instances where he openly discussed the security challenges that have drastically altered his routine.
"Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai," he said when asked about his outlook on the threats to his life.
The actor’s daily routine has been significantly impacted, as he now adheres to a strict movement protocol, travelling only between his home in Galaxy Apartments and his film sets. "I cannot do anything about it (security). Khallas. So I go from Galaxy to shoot to Galaxy, no detours," he added.
Khan’s security concerns date back to 2018, when jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi issued a public threat to kill him during a court appearance in Jodhpur, following the actor’s involvement in the infamous 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
The threats escalated over the years, culminating in an alarming incident in April 2024, when two gunmen—allegedly linked to the Bishnoi gang—opened fire outside his Bandra residence before being apprehended.

Following the attack, security around Khan was intensified, with bulletproof glass installed at his balcony and additional CCTV surveillance put in place. Further concerns arose in June 2024 when the Navi Mumbai Police reportedly uncovered a plot to target him at his farmhouse in Panvel.
Security measures were tightened once again in October 2024, after the assassination of politician Baba Siddiqui, a close associate of Khan, in Mumbai.
Khan, once known for freely cycling around the city, is now under constant protection, a restriction that he acknowledges has limited his movements. When asked about the security detail surrounding him, he quipped, “You guys are sweet; that’s why they are sweet to you. I don’t wish for them to be sweet with those people who are not sweet.”
He also reflected on how the heavy security presence has affected his daily life. “It’s not when I’m with the press, but when I’m without the press. This (security) cramps my style,” he said.
Despite the threats, Khan remains focused on his work.
The interaction with journalists took place ahead of the release of his upcoming film, Sikander, which is slated to hit theatres this Sunday.
