Sara Ali Khan, reflecting on her debut film "Kedarnath," became visibly emotional as she fondly recalled her late co-star Sushant Singh Rajput. In a heartfelt interview with Mid-Day, Sara credited Sushant for the love and appreciation she received for her role in the 2018 romantic drama.

 

The actress, known for sharing nostalgic moments from the sets of "Kedarnath" on social media, opened up about her bond with Sushant and their collaborative work with director Abhishek Kapoor.

 

"There are so many favourite memories," Sara reminisced.

 

She recalled a poignant moment where, feeling unsure about a scene, she turned to Sushant for guidance. "I don’t know how to do this, there’s one, this, this line, just show me," Sara recounted. "And I just went and I copied him."

 

Sara attributed much of her Hindi-speaking prowess and the audience's admiration to Sushant's mentorship during the filming of "Kedarnath." "Any love I’ve gotten for Kedarnath, and it’s a lot, it’s just all him," she expressed tearfully.

 

Sushant Singh Rajput tragically passed away on June 14, 2020, in Mumbai, leaving a void in the industry and among his co-stars.

 

About "Kedarnath"

 

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, "Kedarnath" depicted Sushant as a 'pithu' assisting pilgrims at the revered Kedarnath shrine.

 

The film, set against the backdrop of the devastating 2013 Uttarakhand floods, showcased a poignant romance between Sushant's character and Sara Ali Khan's debut role.

 

The movie received critical acclaim and performed well at the box office.

 

Upcoming projects

 

Currently, Sara Ali Khan stars in Anurag Basu’s "Metro..In Dino," alongside Aditya Roy Kapur, slated for a November release.

 

The film features a stellar ensemble cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, and Konkona Sen Sharma.

 

Sara was last seen in "Ae Watan Mere Watan," portraying Usha Mehta, a pivotal figure in India’s freedom struggle.
