Sara Ali Khan, who was last seen in the films Ae Watan Mere Watan and Murder Mubarak, recently spoke about the extravagant pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant held in Jamnagar. “They served us gold with roti,” she joked.
Sara Ali Khan recalled the pre-wedding bash of Anant and Radhika in March and quipped, “They would serve gold. Like with our roti, we would eat gold. And there were diamonds everywhere.”
She then clarified, “It was a very nice, warm, lovely and hospitable event. I went to school with Anant, and I’ve known Radhika since we were growing up. The entire Ambani family, including Nita ma’am, who was my chairperson at Dhirubhai Ambani school, are so warm and welcoming.”
Recalling the most memorable part of the three-day event, the Love Aaj Kal 2 actor said, “I think the most memorable moment for me was when I saw Anant and Radhika signing the hastakshar paper and looking at each other with love.”
She added, “It was definitely a lot of fun, which is why I am telling you about this specific moment, because it was the most human moment. Everybody looked at it as this extraordinary thing, reviewing what every actor was wearing,
‘Oh God, everyone is performing’, but there were these real moments. For instance, when Nita ma’am performed her Bharatnatyam dance for Anant, she didn’t miss a single beat and had so much grace, but also so much mamta in her eyes. It’s moments like that which stand out.”
Sharing details about her accommodation and surroundings, Sara revealed, “I was staying at a place called Green Retreat. There was a Subko coffee there, so I was having a lot of coffee. But I wasn’t eating much as I had to be part of promotions and look good.”
The Ambanis hosted an extravagant celebration in March in Jamnagar to celebrate the union of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant ahead of their scheduled wedding in July. Over the three days, singers like Rihanna, Akon, Diljit Dosanjh, and Arijit Singh, among others, performed for the guests. Recently, the Ambanis held another pre-wedding bash onboard a luxury cruise in Europe. It lasted for four days, with many Bollywood stars attending. Katy Perry and the Backstreet Boys, among others, performed at the event.
On the work front, Sara Ali Khan will next be seen in an action-comedy opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. The film is being jointly backed by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment.
