The film starts with the early life of the founder of the organisation, KB Hedgewar, and his association with the Anushilan Samiti, and then goes on to the formation of the RSS in 1925.

The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that the Hindi film 'Shatak: Sangh Ke 100 Varsh (2026)' will be exempt from entertainment tax across the state. The decision, made by the BJP-led administration on Monday, aims to encourage audiences to watch the documentary-drama, which charts the century-long history and evolution of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took to social media to confirm the tax-free status, stating that the film serves as a powerful tribute to the "tradition of national service and values" that the RSS has championed since its inception. In a post on X, Yadav argued that the movie delivers a vital message: that the path to a strong, self-reliant India is built upon organised thought, individual character, and a selfless spirit of service.

Directed by Aashish Mall and produced by Vir Kapur, the film provides a detailed historical account of the RSS as an organisation. It starts with the early life of the founder of the organisation, KB Hedgewar, and his association with the Anushilan Samiti, and then goes on to the formation of the RSS in 1925.

It also mentions some of the important historical events, such as the liberation of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and the organisation's role in the Kashmir crisis of 1948.

Having hit cinemas on February 19, 'Shatak' is being framed by supporters as an educational tool for the younger generation to understand the ideological roots of the Sangh. By waiving the entertainment tax, the state government clearly hopes to broaden the film's reach during its theatrical run.
