Actress Shriya Saran offered praise for her co-star Emraan Hashmi's humility and dedication while promoting their new drama "Showtime."
Directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, "Showtime" delves into the world of Bollywood, exploring themes of legacy, ambition, nepotism, and power struggles within the industry.
The film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Emraan Hashmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Mahima Makwana, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Shriya Saran herself.
Speaking about her experience working with Hashmi, Saran remarked, "He is such a huge star, yet so humble and diligent. His journey from playing popular roles to becoming an actor known for his nuanced performances is truly remarkable. He has evolved as an actor in the most commendable way."
Saran also discussed her thoughts on nepotism, referencing a recent Karan Johar show where celebrities shared their personal struggles. "It was quite eye-opening to hear everyone share their past stories," she stated. "Ajay Devgn and Karan even discussed their own challenges. It's a reminder that everyone, regardless of their background, faces difficulties in their journey."
Reflecting on her own experiences, Saran added, "There was a point in my life when I started taking things for granted. But life humbled me, and I realized my mistake. Failure teaches you more than victory. We often forget the hardships we overcome to reach where we are."
The recently released trailer showcases Emraan Hashmi as a powerful film producer, while Mahima Makwana portrays a journalist navigating themes of nepotism within the industry.
The series, produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Mihir Desai, is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on March 8th.
