The family of the late Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, affectionately known as Sidhu Moosewala, is preparing to welcome a new member.
Moosewala's mother, Charan Kaur, is expecting a baby soon, according to sources close to the family.
Reportedly 58 years old, Kaur had previously stated her age as 56 in a 2022 affidavit filed as a covering candidate for Sidhu during his electoral campaign in Mansa.
Currently under medical supervision, she is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the newest member of the family.
Sidhu Moosewala tragically met his demise in May 2022 when assailants opened fire on him while he was traveling with his cousin and friend in Mansa.
The investigation into his death is being conducted by a special investigation team (SIT) of the Punjab police, with a chargesheet filed against 32 individuals, including gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria.
Despite his untimely demise, Sidhu Moosewala's legacy continues to resonate with his fans, particularly the youth. Renowned for writing and producing his own songs, he was esteemed as one of the wealthiest Punjabi singers.
His posthumously released songs have garnered millions of views, attesting to his enduring popularity.
Moosewala was the sole child of his parents, who are now in their late fifties.
While there has been no official statement from the family regarding the impending arrival, sources confirm the anticipation of the delivery. Charan Kaur has remained out of the public eye for the past six months.
Amidst speculation about Moosewala's father, Balkaur Singh, potentially entering politics and contesting the Bathinda Lok Sabha seat, he has expressed reservations about altering the family's course.
Meanwhile, Charan Kaur recently lent her support to protesting farmers through her social media platforms, advocating for justice for Shubhkaran Singh, a fellow farmer who met a tragic fate at the Khanauri border.
