Mukesh Khanna, renowned for his portrayal of the iconic superhero Shaktimaan in the 1990s serial, has expressed his disapproval regarding reports of actor Ranveer Singh being cast as the beloved character in an upcoming film adaptation.
Khanna, who not only played the titular role but also created and produced the original "Shaktimaan" series that aired on DD in 1997, conveyed his concerns about Singh's potential portrayal of the superhero.
While media speculation suggests Singh's involvement in the project directed by Basil Joseph, known for "Minnal Murali," the film's makers are yet to confirm or refute these claims.
Taking to Instagram, Khanna addressed the circulating rumors, emphasizing his belief that an actor's existing image may not align with the essence of Shaktimaan.
He asserted his stance, stating that despite Singh's star power, he may not be suitable for the role.
Khanna's statement has sparked intrigue about the casting direction for the much-anticipated film.
In addition to his social media remarks, Khanna posted a video on his YouTube channel, Bheeshm International, where he referenced Singh's past magazine photoshoot featuring bare-bodied images.
