Tom Holland in the film 'Spiderman-Homecoming'

In a bizarre turn of events, Tom Holland has found himself at the centre of the internet’s attention once again, but this time it's not for his charming antics or superhero films.

Fans were left confused as the beloved actor's account on social media platform ‘X’ went rogue.

A mysterious tweet announcing a collaboration with cryptocurrency giant @Binance for the launch of a Spider-Verse-themed venture was seen on the actor’s account. With a link to 'spiderverse.app' in tow, Holland seemed to invite his followers to dive into the world of $SPIDER coin and Spiderverse NFTs.

However, reports swiftly emerged stating that Holland's account had been compromised. The tweet promoting the Spider-Verse NFTs was deleted, but not before it was retweeted, screenshotted and saved by thousands of users.

Puzzled fans tried to make sense of the ordeal, as cquestions arose about the actor's sudden interest in cryptocurrency as Holland had never shown interest in such ventures before.

Questions have been raised by tech experts on the safety of accounts on the social media platform in the wake of this high-profile hacking ordeal.
