This Independence Day is shaping up to be a blockbuster weekend at the box office with the release of three highly anticipated films: Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa.

Each of these movies caters to different genres, setting the stage for a diverse cinematic experience. While it's too early to predict which film will come out on top, the advance bookings for Stree 2 are already making headlines.

Stree 2 has generated significant buzz, with advance ticket sales indicating a strong opening. Within just 38 hours of advance bookings being open, the film has sold around 85,000 tickets across major national cinema chains like PVRINOX and Cinepolis.

Nationwide, the total number of tickets sold has surpassed 1.22 lakh, a remarkable figure in such a short span. To put this into perspective, Tiger 3 and Brahmastra, both of which eventually sold over 3,00,000 tickets by the midnight of their release dates, had sold 72,000 and 65,000 tickets, respectively, in a similar timeframe.

The advance sales for Stree 2 suggest that it might reach numbers close to Animal, which sold 4.56 lakh tickets by the night before its release.

This strong early performance hints at a potential double-digit opening on Day 1 for Stree 2, though the final outcome will depend on factors like word of mouth and the performance of the other two films.

Last year's Independence Day releases, Gadar 2 and OMG 2, both found success in their respective genres, and this year's releases could follow a similar pattern. As audiences eagerly await these films, the competition at the box office promises to be intense.
