Sydney Sweeney is set to star in Sony Pictures’ erotic feature “Hollow”, the retelling of the “Sleepy Hollow” tale.
The film is based on Lindsey Anderson Beer’s debut novel and will be directed, produced and adapted by Beer, with LuckyChap and Sweeney’s Honey Trap banner co-producing.
Reports suggest Sony grabbed the deal in a high-stakes competitive situation.
Beer’s novel is a reimagining of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, told through the perspective of the protagonist Katrina Van Tassel.
Reframing the iconic heroine as a central protagonist rather than a mere romantic prize to fit contemporary reimagining, the story blends gothic atmosphere, psychological intrigue and erotic thriller elements into a dangerous mystery and seductive supernatural love triangle.

She was last seen in “The Housemaid” alongside Amanda Seyfried in Lionsgate’s adaptation of the bestselling novel. The film grossed nearly $400 million worldwide and is set for a sequel. Sweeney also recently produced and starred in the titular role of “Christy”.
