Victoria Beckham breaks silence on Brooklyn feud

“And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it,” the “Spice Girls” alum said.

Earlier this year, Brooklyn made it clear that a line has been drawn in the sand. As he previously declared, "I do not want to reconcile with my family."

Months after Brooklyn Peltz Beckham took to social media to accuse his parents of manipulation and trying to "ruin" his relationship with wife Nicola, Victoria Beckham has finally broken her silence.

In a rare address, the “Spice Girls” alum briefly touched upon her 26-year-old son’s public separation from the Beckham clan.

Despite the gravity of his allegations, Victoria focused her measured response on the family's history of living in the public eye.

“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be,” she told a leading international media outlet. “And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”

Earlier this year, Brooklyn made it clear that a line has been drawn in the sand. As he previously declared, "I do not want to reconcile with my family."

"I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into,” the Cloud23 founder said in an Instagram Story shared on January 19.

"Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media," he continued, "mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out."

Brooklyn said the family fallout began ahead of his 2022 wedding to Nicola, when David and Victoria allegedly "pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name."

"They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated," he said. "My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since."

Brooklyn also accused his mother of cancelling designing Nicola's wedding dress "in the eleventh hour" and dancing "very inappropriately on me" during the wedding reception.

"My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me," he alleged.

And though Brooklyn said Nicola tried to mend relations with his parents over the years, David and Victoria continued to be cold towards the actress.

"My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one," he alleged.

"I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family," he said.
