Punjabi artist Diljit Dosanjh declared at his concert in Chandigarh on December 14 that he would refrain from performing in the city until the administration improves its live show facilities. This statement, widely circulated through viral videos, coincides with the conclusion of Dosanjh's immensely successful ‘Dil-Luminati Tour,’ which has attracted large crowds in North America, Europe, and India.

Videos circulating online show Dosanjh speaking candidly to the audience in Punjabi between songs. He said, “We don’t have the proper infrastructure for live shows here. This is a significant source of revenue, and many people rely on it for work. Until the infrastructure improves, I won’t be doing shows here again.”

He also suggested holding stages surrounded by the audience on all sides in future performances to enhance the immersive experience.

Diljit’s ‘Dil-Luminati Tour,’ which kicked off on April 27, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada, has marked a significant milestone for Punjabi music. He headlined BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, attracting over 54,000 attendees—the largest crowd for a Punjabi concert outside of India. The tour continued through major cities in North America, including Edmonton, Dallas, and Toronto, where he concluded this segment at Rogers Centre on July 13.

Dosanjh performed in Paris, Amsterdam, and London during the European segment, making history as the first South Asian artist to host three shows at The O2 Arena.

Back in India, the tour started in New Delhi on October 26 and included cities such as Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. Due to overwhelming demand, more shows were added.

The tour will end with a spectacular finale in Guwahati on December 29, following a performance in Mumbai on December 19.
