Saudi Deputy Minister for Media Khalid bin Abdulqader Al-Ghamdi was all praise for the over 20.6 million strong Indian community living in and contributing to the country’s development.
The Saudi minister’s statement came during the Ministry of Media launch of the ‘global harmony’ initiative in Riyadh as part of the “Quality of Life” programme to attain its Vision 2030 objectives.
The Riyadh Season started on October 13.
The events and activities in Riyadh Season offer insights into the cultures of 11 countries, which include India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Bangladesh, and Egypt, over 45 days.
The activities in Riyadh Season include concerts, cultural, family, entertainment and food –related events, and handicraft exhibitions.
Underlining the contribution of Indians in the Saudi society, the deputy minister said the relationship with India is important and growing.
“The relationship between our countries is witnessing improvement, witnessing so many new arenas of cooperation, including economics, culture, or all the aspects, and these will be aligned to Vision 2030 or its counterpart long-term projects in India,” he said.
The minister also highlighted previous visits made by PM Modi to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the years 2016 and 2019.
“It is one manifestation of how strong the relationship between both countries is. It is leadership and political aspects for all the relevance of the relationship between the two countries and is all together moving toward the future based on our vision 2030 and long-term vision of the India relationship,” he added.
The Saudi Ministry of Media, in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority, has organised events in the city that feature cultural, artistic, and
folkloric activities and shows.
“This is an initiative taken by the Ministry of Media; the Saudi government has set its eyes on Vision 2030, where the country aims to increase the quality of life. It aims to offer a unique perspective on how different societies are jelling together with Saudi society,” Ghamdi added.
