Security forces in Pakistan said on Thursday that they have killed 23 terrorists of Fitna-al Khawarij, affiliated with BLA and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, in the Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation, which lasted for hours on Wednesday night, was initiated after credible information of an imminent terror attack by the terrorists in the northern KPK region. In the first targeted operation, troops engaged a group of terrorists, killing twelve terrorists after an intense exchange of fire.

Acting swiftly on additional intelligence, security forces carried out a second operation in the same area, killing 11 terrorists. The ISPR statement later confirmed that the operation was still underway to clear the region of any remaining threats, highlighting the country’s relentless counter-terrorism drive under the operation “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue until all foreign-sponsored terrorism is eradicated.

Besides, the security forces killed four terrorists in separate encounters on November 17 and 18 across Bajaur, North Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the operations must continue across the region to flush out the terrorism, especially those coming from Afghanistan border.
He praised the security forces for their successful operations, stating that the armed forces are achieving “remarkable successes” under the vision of determination and stability.
