British authorities have arrested around 900 pro-Palestinian protesters in London for urging Starmer to end ties and sanction Israel over alleged war crimes in Gaza.
The protest was organised by the Palestine Action Group, which has been designated a terrorist organisation by the British government.
Police said they had arrested more than 857 individuals under the Terrorism Act for supporting a proscribed terrorist organisation. Thirty-three more were detained for other offences, while 17 were arrested for assaulting police officers.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Claire Smart said abuse directed at police was “intolerable as they were carrying out their duties today. Our officers have been punched, kicked, spat on and had objects thrown at them by protesters.”

Defend Our Juries, the group that organised the demonstration, said more than 1,500 people took part outside Parliament, insisting that protesters had been sitting down and holding signs.
Police later clashed with demonstrators who refused to move from the parliamentary area, arresting hundreds outside the building.
The British government recently banned the Palestine Action Group over vandalism at a Royal Air Force base. Last month, the group invaded, damaged, and sprayed red paint over two refuelling planes in protest at the government’s continuing military support for Israel and its offensive in Gaza.
