An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 hit Japan on Tuesday causing strong trembling in the central region, the Japan Meteorological Agency informed, adding that no tsunami warnings have been issued yet. 

 

The tremors were felt after a week of deadly earthquakes hit the country which resulted in massive destruction. Japan’s meteorological officials warned that the strong tremors could last for another month. 

 

People were left homeless after an earthquake of 7.6 magnitude hit Japan. The death toll in the East Asian country jumped the margin of 200 whereas nearly 565 people faced injuries amid multiple tremors. The total number of missing individuals has gone down to 102, as of Tuesday. 

 

The rescue efforts are still going on to find the missing ones with firefighters, thousands of troops and police officials being involved in the rescue, meticulously searching through collapsed buildings in the hope of finding survivors. 

 

According to a media report, the officials have issued a warning for landslides and heavy snowfall on the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa prefecture. 

 

The report discloses that approximately 30,000 people are currently seeking refuge in schools, auditoriums, and other evacuation centers, driven by the fear of contracting COVID-19.
