The latest bi-annual Asian American Voter Survey (AAVS), conducted by Asian and Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote), AAPI Data, Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC), and AARP, revealed a significant 19% decrease in Indian Americans' support for incumbent President Joe Biden.

The survey results indicate that only 46% of Indian Americans plan to vote for Biden in the upcoming 2024 election, down from 65% who supported him in the 2020 election.

In the latest survey conducted before the June 27th presidential debate between Biden and Trump, it was found that the support for Biden among Asian Americans has significantly dropped by 19%. This decrease is the largest among all the Asian-American ethnic communities.

The survey revealed that 46% of Asian Americans are likely to vote for Biden, marking an eight-percentage-point decline since 2020. On the other hand, 31% are likely to vote for Trump, showing a one-point gain since 2020.

Despite this, Trump's favourability rating has only increased by 2% from 2020 to 2024, going from 28% to 30%. This increase comes despite the significant 19% drop in support for Biden from Indian Americans.

Over the past two decades, the Asian American community has seen significant growth in the number of eligible voters in the United States, with a 15% increase in the last four years alone.

This surge has resulted in record turnout in every federal election since 2016. The 2020 election saw a remarkable increase in the number of first-time Asian American voters, particularly in crucial battleground states, which played a significant role in securing Biden's victory.

Of particular note is the shift in support among Indian American voters, which holds significance due to the community's substantial presence in many battleground states.

A recent survey revealed that Biden holds a 55% favourability rating among Indian Americans, while Trump's favourability rating stands at 35%. Strikingly, both candidates share an equal 42% unfavourability rating among Indian Americans.
