Members of the Bihari Diaspora community in the United States commemorated Bihar Diwas with a solemn commitment to contribute towards the advancement of their native State in India.
During the event organized by the Bihar Foundation of USA – West Coast Chapter to celebrate the 112th anniversary of Bihar's establishment, Bay Area entrepreneur and philanthropist, Satyam Sinha, announced a generous donation of USD 20,000 to aid 15 villages through the “Adopt a Village” programme.
Expressing pride in their pledge, Rajiv Sinha of the Bihar Foundation of USA – West Coast Chapter affirmed, "We are proud to pledge today to make a contribution for the betterment of the people of Bihar in whatever way we can."
Additionally, Swati Nigam Sinha, executive fellow and mentor at the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurs, introduced a new initiative titled “Start-Up Bihar” under the BFOUSA - WCC’s “Bihar Business Connect” programme, aimed at supporting entrepreneurs keen on conducting business ventures in Bihar.
Jayant Kumar, Director of Bihar Foundation of USA – West Coast Chapter, outlined key programmes such as “Adopt A Village” and “Bihar Business Connect” during the celebrations.
These initiatives focus on tackling blindness in Bihar village by village and facilitating business connections for investors and entrepreneurs seeking to engage in business activities in Bihar.
The Bihar Diwas event on April 7 featured distinguished speakers including Rakesh Adlakha, Deputy Consulate General of India, San Francisco, and Alex Lee, Assembly member, 24th district.
Notable figures like Jain spiritual leader Acharya Lokesh Muni and Ajay Jain Bhutoria also delivered speeches, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
