Comedian Kabir Singh, known for his appearance on America's Got Talent Season 16, passed away at the age of 39. The news was shared by his close friend and fellow comedian, Jeremy Curry, on Facebook.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of death, and are awaiting the results of a toxicology report.
Jeremy Curry wrote on Facebook, “It’s my deepest regret to let everyone know that Kabir Singh has passed away. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, and this is the most devastating post I’ve made.”
Kabir Singh was found dead at his home in San Francisco on Wednesday. Police are investigating the sudden death, but a friend confirmed he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
The authorities believe he may have died of natural causes, though the investigation is still ongoing.
Singh, who was known for his role in Family Guy, gained fame on America's Got Talent in 2021, where he reached the semifinals before being eliminated. That season was won by magician Dustin Tavella.
His close friend, Jeremy Curry, paid tribute to him on Facebook, sharing a photo of the two together. Curry announced that services for Kabir would be held on Saturday, December 14, at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, California. He also asked people to keep Singh’s family and fiancée in their thoughts.
Singh’s fiancée confirmed his death in a statement. Sources close to Singh mentioned that he had been dealing with health problems, and authorities believe he died of natural causes.

Kabir Singh was born in Portland to Indian parents and developed a passion for comedy at the age of nine when his family moved to Mumbai. Often teased for being the "American kid," Singh learned three languages to better connect with others.
He returned to the United States at 13, and these experiences inspired his comedy, focusing on cultural clashes and the Indian-American experience.
He became known for his stand-up comedy, performing on major platforms like Comedy Central, the BBC, and Family Guy. He shared the stage with comedy legends such as Dave Chappelle, Jo Koy, and Russell Peters, and toured with stars like Anjelah Johnson and Aries Spears.
Kabir Singh also headlined the Outsourced Comedy Tour and sold out shows at famous venues, including the Hollywood Laugh Factory and The Comedy Store. In 2015, he headlined a 14-city international tour, with sold-out shows in the UK and India.
His last performance was on November 2, 2023, in Manteca, California. His television appearances included Gabriel Iglesias’ Stand-Up Revolution, Starz Network, and Fox.
