The death toll from continuous US and Israeli bombardment of Iran has climbed to 1,045 since the conflict began on Saturday, Iranian officials reported on Thursday. Officials stressed that the true casualty figure is likely significantly higher than publicly confirmed numbers due to ongoing strikes and difficulties in verification amid widespread damage.

In Washington, the US Senate blocked a resolution aimed at limiting President Donald Trump’s military campaign against Iran, rejecting the procedural motion by a vote of 53–47.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that the, “US and Israel are attempting to infiltrate terrorists into the country to incite an internal uprising against Tehran. The United States, which maintains close ties with Kurdish militias in the region, is allegedly pushing terrorist elements into Iran to open additional fronts and advance a regime-change operation.”

In response, Iran and Iraq have mobilised forces towards their border regions to prevent Kurdish groups from entering the conflict zone. Iranian-aligned Iraqi militia forces have issued stern warnings of severe consequences should Kurdish forces attempt to cross into Iraqi or Iranian territory.

Israel continues heavy bombardment of Tehran and surrounding areas—home to approximately 14 million people—despite warnings that such strikes are miscalculating the nature of dissent within Iran, which largely originates from these densely populated urban centres.

US Central Command stated that efforts to 'eliminate' Iran’s mobile missile launch capabilities are ongoing as the joint US-Israeli operation enters its sixth day. “We are finding and destroying these threats with lethal precision,” CENTCOM said in a statement posted on X.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon released the names of the remaining US soldiers killed in the Iranian strike on a base in Kuwait on Sunday as Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert Marzan, 54, of Sacramento, California, and Major Jeffrey O’Brien, 45, of Indianola, Iowa.
