Trump Visits Family Golf Resorts on Scotland State Visit.

US President Donald Trump begins his official trip to Scotland on Friday, where he is scheduled to meet British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to negotiate the trade deal they agreed to earlier this year.

Trump will stay in Scotland until Tuesday. Reports indicate that he will also visit golf resorts owned by his family’s business.

In early May, the US and the UK were the first to announce a “breakthrough” in tariff negotiations. The two, while praising the deal, later signed the agreement.

After he arrived in Scotland, Trump announced plans to meet European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Sunday. He said there was a good “50-50 possibility” for a stable and beneficial trade deal with the EU.

Trump, who was invited by King Charles III for dinner, will be returning to the UK in September for his second official state visit.

While Trump enjoys good relations with the British Prime Minister, especially after securing a trade deal, several other nations, including Spain, Italy, Brazil, India, China, Russia, and France, have experienced a gradual downgrading of diplomatic relations with the US, particularly over ongoing trade tariff wars.

The United States recently announced that it would impose an additional 100 per cent sanctions on countries that conduct trade with Russia.

Though the warnings have not deterred Russia’s trade partners, such as India and China, who have defiantly positioned themselves, ignoring the US warnings.

While Brazil called Donald Trump’s 50 per cent tariff imposition blackmail, China has said it will fight to the end while seeking alternative trade partners in South Asia, the EU and the Middle East, along with Latin American states.
