Hamas said that the group submitted a response to an Israeli ceasefire proposal after over two weeks of indirect negotiations that stalled in Qatar, after the group demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and a continuous flow.
In a social media post on Thursday, the group said, "Hamas has just submitted its response and that of the Palestinian factions to the ceasefire proposal to the mediators." The latest statement from the main fighting group in Gaza has proposed a few amendments: the entry of aid and maps of areas from which the Israeli army should withdraw.
This comes a day after 110 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli forces in Gaza in the 24 hours. The victims included 34 aid seekers and ten more who have died as a result of hunger and starvation.

Talks between the two sides have been going on in Doha, with mediators attempting to reach an agreement on a truce deal that would see the release of several Israeli captives. Though the talks have dragged on for over two weeks now, without a breakthrough, with each side accusing the other of sabotaging the deal.
The Israeli government has said that its main aim is the dismantlement of Hamas and the destruction of the group’s infrastructure. However, the international community said that these military goals are not achievable. Meanwhile, in his latest speech, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that Hamas was stronger than it was on October 7, adding the group has around “200,000” fighters in Gaza.
"Israel has agreed to the Qatari proposal and the updated (US special envoy Steve) Witkoff proposal; it is Hamas that is refusing,” said an Israeli spokesperson.
