Israeli military officials on Thursday claimed that Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) killed Hezbollah Chief Naim Qassem’s nephew and his close aide in an air raid carried out in Lebanon’s Beirut on Wednesday night. The announcement was made by the IDF through a post on the social media platform X.
The post from the IDF read, “ELIMINATED: Ali Yusuf Harshi, the personal secretary to Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem in Beirut. A close associate and personal advisor, Harshi played a key role in managing and securing Qassem’s office.”
Harshi was reportedly a close aide and personal advisor to Hezbollah Secretary-General Na’im Qassem and played a key role in managing his office and overseeing his security.
The forces said it attacked two key crossings used by Hezbollah to move from northern to southern Litani in Lebanon to transport weapons consignments.
The raid was further aimed at targeting 10 storage facilities and the headquarters of Hezbollah in the latest attack.
