In a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing security preparedness, India and Israel recently conducted a joint security drill in New Delhi.

 

Organised by the Israeli embassy in India, the exercise brought together various Indian security agencies and emergency services to assess their readiness in countering potential future threats.

 

Led by Israeli Ambassador Naor Gilon, the drill was deemed a significant milestone in strengthening the cooperation between the two nations in matters of security and defence.

 

Gilon expressed gratitude for the dedication and efforts of Indian security forces, highlighting the importance of such collaborative exercises in reinforcing their shared commitment to global stability and fostering a safer world.

 

The exercise witnessed the participation of key agencies, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Delhi Police, the National Security Guard (NSG), and local emergency services such as the fire department and traffic police.

 

Over the course of day and night sessions held at the Israeli Embassy, participants engaged in practising response strategies to potential terrorist incidents.

 

One of the key aspects of the drill was the activation of elite units from both Israeli and Indian agencies to simulate various scenarios. These simulated scenarios allowed participants to refine their coordination, communication, and operational procedures, thus strengthening their joint efforts against terrorism.

 

Additionally, the Delhi Traffic Police played a pivotal role in managing traffic control in the vicinity, ensuring smooth conduct of the exercise.
