External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stressed on Thursday India and Japan's pivotal role as natural partners in a world poised for "re-globalization," highlighting shared values of democracy and market economies during his visit to Tokyo.

 

Addressing the inaugural Raisina Roundtable, Jaishankar spotlighted the evolving global dynamics, emphasizing the transformation of the top 20 or 30 nations over the decades.

 

He underlined the importance of adapting to these shifts, noting the emergence of new balances in international relations.

 

Asserting the natural synergy between India and Japan in the re-globalization process, Jaishankar highlighted their shared attributes as democracies and market economies.

 

He highlighted the significance of their commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific, a vision advanced through the Quad, comprising the US, Australia, India, and Japan.

 

Jaishankar lauded the progress made in Indo-Japanese relations, emphasizing the foundation of trust and comfort established between the two nations.

 

He expressed optimism about the prospects for enhanced cooperation, particularly in light of India's significant strides in recent years.

 

The Raisina Roundtable serves as a crucial platform for fostering track 2 exchanges between India and Japan, facilitating strategic dialogue and cooperation.

 

Jaishankar's visit to Tokyo aims to provide strategic direction to bilateral cooperation across various sectors, further strengthening the bond between the two nations.
