Following the announcement by the Maldives banning the entry of individuals with Israeli passports, the Israel Embassy in India has extended an invitation to Israeli citizens to explore the beautiful beaches of India. The embassy emphasized that Israeli tourists are warmly welcomed in India, offering a variety of destinations to explore.
Highlighting some of India's picturesque beach destinations, the Israel Embassy recommended places such as Goa, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Kerala. The post showcased stunning images of beaches in these regions, inviting Israeli travelers to experience the hospitality and charm of Indian beaches.
In a recent statement on social media platform X, the Israel Embassy in India stated, "Since the Maldives is no longer welcoming Israelis, here are some beautiful and amazing Indian beaches where Israeli tourists are warmly welcomed and treated with utmost hospitality. Check out these recommendations from @IsraelinIndia, based on the places visited by our diplomats."
Israeli Consul General in Mumbai, Kobbi Shoshani, also expressed appreciation for India's natural beauty, referencing a previous post by Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising the scenic beauty of Lakshadweep. In a post on X, Shoshani remarked, "Thanks to the Maldives Government’s decision, Israelis can now explore the beautiful beaches of #Lakshadweep."
The Israel Embassy's statement follows the recent decision by the Maldives government to prohibit entry for individuals holding Israeli passports. Maldives Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihsaan, announced the decision during a press conference at the Maldives President’s Office, stating that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, following a recommendation from the Cabinet, had resolved to impose a ban on Israeli passport holders.
The Cabinet's decision includes amendments to laws to prevent Israeli passport holders from entering the Maldives, with the establishment of a Cabinet subcommittee to oversee these efforts.
Additionally, President Muizzu has appointed a special envoy to assess the needs of Palestinians and initiated a fundraising campaign in collaboration with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees to provide assistance to the people of Palestine.
The decision by the Maldives government comes amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced Israel's proposal for a comprehensive ceasefire roadmap, aiming to secure the release of all hostages held by Hamas and achieve lasting peace in the region.
