Amid growing concerns about increasing racism and xenophobia directed toward immigrants in Canada, a troubling video has surfaced from Toronto depicting a clearly inebriated man physically assaulting a brown man, presumed to be of Indian descent, inside a McDonald's restaurant. The cellphone recording, which is rapidly spreading across social media platforms, indicates that the assault was entirely unprovoked.
The footage captures a white Canadian individual, dressed in a Toronto Blue Jays jacket, abruptly approaching the brown man who is standing near the 'Mobile Order Pick Up' counter at the McDonald's location and initiating the attack.
The drunken assailant initially shoved the man positioned by the counter, causing his phone to be knocked into the air. As the Indian man composedly retrieved his phone from the floor, the attacker charged at him again, seizing him by the collar and pushing him backward. While gripping the collar, the aggressor was audible in accusing the Indian man of "acting superior" in his presence.
The Indian man attempted to protect himself without engaging in any counterattack, yet the assailant persisted until a third individual, likely an employee, stepped in and instructed both men to move their dispute 'outside'.
Nevertheless, the white man kept levelling accusations of arrogance against the victim prior to being removed from the establishment.
To date, authorities have released no official statement regarding the incident, and the identities of the individuals involved remain unverified. However, the reported event took place on November 1.
This alarming video emerged shortly following the fatal assault on a 55-year-old Canadian-Indian businessman named Arvi Singh Sagoo by an unknown assailant in Edmonton, Canada. Sagoo was targeted after he challenged the stranger for urinating on his vehicle. The perpetrator struck Sagoo in the head with a punch, resulting in him collapsing unconscious.
The assault happened on October 19, and Sagoo died from his injuries five days afterward, on October 24.
